At the invitation of the rector of Sumy National Agrarian University Ihor KOVALENKO, on April 10, a guest lecture of a foreign lecturer was delivered by Professor Dariush VASYL (Department of Bacteriology Animal Diseases National Reference Laboratory for Salmonellosis and Antimicrobial Resistance, National Veterinary Institute, Pulawy, Poland).
Topic of the lecture: “Methodological approaches to antimicrobial resistance monitoring.” The purpose of the event was to familiarize applicants with modern methods of microbiological diagnostics, current world approaches to studying the mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance, as well as to consider the global impact of antibiotic resistance as one of the most important threats to animal and human health. Professor Dariush VASYL shared the practical experience of Poland and the EU countries in the implementation of monitoring systems, work with bacterial isolates, the use of modern protocols and laboratory tools.
The lecture was held online, with the active participation of applicants and teachers, which contributed to the development of intercultural communication and the involvement of international specialists in the educational process. The event has become an important component of the practical training of future specialists in veterinary medicine.
